U.N. airlifts food to starving French fashion models-Fashion Trendsetter

PARIS -- In defiance of angry French officials, the United Nations disrupted Paris Fashion Week today to deliver emergency all-you-can-eat buffets and pot-luck suppers to starving female fashion models.
"We could not let the humanitarian crisis on Paris catwalks continue," U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan said. "The world community had to act to save the models of Paris from their own astounding stupidity and bad taste."
Under pressure from the World Health Organization, the French government changed the name of the country's most famous fashion show from "Ready to Wear" to "Ready to Eat" to encourage the models to stop at the buffet tables. The situation was so dire that U.N. peacekeepers and WHO medics were forced to set up buffets along the edges of catwalks to prevent models from collapsing from exhaustion and malnutrition during the show.
U.N. observers expected France to veto the Security Council resolution ordering the airlifts, but the chain-smoking French ambassador to the U.N. missed the vote when, in compliance with New York City's indoor smoking ban, he had to spend the entire session on the sidewalk.

Japanees 2009 Fashion
How many fashion shows can Hong Kong have on at the same time? It seems the answer is lots, as the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Fall/Winter 2008 collection drew many of Hong Kong’s fashionable socialites to their show at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre last Thursday.
Showcasing their 1960’s inspired monochrome fall collection through a video & live catwalk presentation of models with the classic 60’s bob hairstyle, this season’s collection by Stefano Pilati is modernistic, very strong, stripped off all frills and patterns and totally focused on the preciseness of the cut and shapes of the clothes.

Hong Kong Fashion Week Now On
The Hong Kong Fashion Weekfor Spring/Summer 2009 is running right now until Friday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. There are over 1,100 exhibitors for sourcing and lost of exhibitor collections and fashion show presentations from 21 countries.

The Pitti Filati fashion exhibition is on from Jan 30th to Feb 1st 2008 at Fortezza da Basso, Florence, which is organized by Pitti Immagine and sponsored by the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana.
A total of 103 brands are exhibited in the 23,000-square-meter venue, 24 of which are from abroad, welcoming buyers from all over the world, including Germany, Great Britain, Japan, United States, France, Spain, Hong Kong, Turkey, Holland and Switzerland.
As the world preview of yarns for the knitting industry for the 2009 spring-summer, visitors can easily find many shining points in this edition.
It is a creative stimulus for the fashion business and the avanguard of international fashion. As said by Agostino Poletto, Deputy-General Manager of Pitti Immagine, “The event is the reference for the creatives and designers from the major fashion houses and international fashion brands who come to Florence looking for creative stimuli. Pitti Filati’s leadership position is maintained by constant research that does not stop at yarns for the knitting industry – it has produced a trend laboratory/workshop – the totally unique Spazio Ricerca”.
“Eco-Luxe”, the new concept in luxury, is the key event and an informative and entertaining project at this edition, which puts the focus on the quality and value of natural, ecological and organic yarns in contrast to the stereotyped ideas of “crafty” and rustic. It’s believed to reveal a new concept in luxury and a rapidly growing market niche.

Beyonce Performs In Moscow, Rihanna In Trebeca NY
Check out the HQ photos of Rihanna arriving or leaving Ne-Yo's birthday party in Tribeca , New York. I'm pretty sure she's arriving at his birthday party since she has on the same outfit and is walking with her entourage somewhere in the same city and same night Ne-Yo's birthday party took place.
Beyonce performed in Moscow on October 18, 2007. If you click on the HQ photos above, you can see that she has on a ton of makeup. Usually singers choose to wear more makeup onstage so that their face can be seen easily, but she has on way too much. Her face looks fake, but I can see why she decided to put on this much makeup after seeing herself looking a mess without it.(source: www.zimbio.com)
